Better Never Stops; Andy Murray x Castore

1004 matches, 6520 aces, 17 broken bones, 8 coaches, 5 operations, 3 grand slams, 2 olympic golds, and 1 Andy Murray.

Better Never Stops, it evolves.

As Andy Murray's illustrious career comes to an end, we reflect on his remarkable journey and legacy. Since Andy Murray announced himself at the top of the table of professional tennis, at the age of 18, through resilience and commitment, Murray has left a legacy on each and every tennis court he has played on.

Having ended Britain’s 77 year wait for a homegrown champion at Wimbledon back in 2013, Murray has since then won 3 Grand Slam titles, 2 Olympic gold medals, and led Britain to the Davis Cup glory. Thanks to his phenomenal era of success, Murray has gained his status as one of the most respected athletes on the planet.

Murray became the first Castore Athlete, and shareholder back in 2019, taking on the role as board advisor - just 4 years after Castore was founded. This iconic partnership marked Castore's first foray into technical tennis apparel - with the birth of the Andy Murray Castore - AMC collection. Over the past 5 years to present day, we are immensely proud and lucky to have partnered with an athlete of Murray’s calibre - his drive and competitive spirit has transcended tennis at the highest level.

Andy Murray is the epitome of our brand ethos Better Never stops - and embodies all of the characteristics Castore represents - ambition, passion, tenacity, drive and desire. Through his attention to detail and strive to overcome obstacles that would have ended the careers of others - Andy has continued to push for better, even through the toughest of setbacks.

Founder Tom Beahon spokeAndy found a way to win when all the odds were stacked against him and that alone is why he will go down in history. To win three Grand Slam titles and two Olympic Gold medals in any era is a phenomenal achievement. To do it with three of the greatest players to ever step on a tennis court competing at their prime is truly awe inspiring.”

Murrays relentless pursuit of excellence has never dulled - just five months after his career-saving right hip surgery back in 2019, Murray claimed a prestigious win during the European Open in Antwerp in 2019.

His recent injury setback of a spinal cyst that required surgery just a week and a half before Wimbledon 2024 started didn't deter Murray - he instead, approached this setback with his typical unwavering resilience. Despite an abrupt chapter close at Wimbledon 2024, when Emma Raducanu withdrew from mixed doubles, Andy battled on to play to the Quarter Final at the 2024 Olympics. While it was his last career tournament, Andy was determined not go out without a fight, playing all to way to the ninth match point.

Murrays X bio may have changed from 'I play tennis' to 'I played tennis', but his legacy will continue to evolve.

Whatever comes next for Andy will be nothing short of legendary.
