Introducing the Layered Ventilation System—designed to adapt to every swing, shift and state of mind
The round has begun. Not with a noise, but with a layered system working silently behind the scenes.
The First Layer
Hear that? Nothing. Maybe a light breeze rustling the trees and the final traces of early morning birdsong. But that’s all that disturbs the first fairway as the players step onto the still-dewy grass to take their opening shot, the sun still low in the sky.
In the silence and the stillness, the players are free to focus. The rest of the world melts away. Their club and their ball are all that’s left.
Even their apparel feels invisible. A single layer. Lightweight, breathable, designed to move, then disappear. Nothing clings. Nothing distracts. The golfer inhales, refocuses, swings.
Golf is a game of layers. Weather and terrain, thought and emotion, breath and movement. The players who manage them all, seamlessly, are the ones who succeed.
The round has begun. Not with a noise, but with a layered system working silently behind the scenes.
Developed to meet the demands of the modern golfer, LVS is built to adapt as the game does.
Movement Meets Mindset
By the fourth or fifth hole, players shift into a new phase, from quiet focus to controlled flow. This is the heartbeat of a round. Shots feel more intuitive. Club selection more confident. But as the pace picks up, so does the need for adaptability. The air thickens. Heat builds. Layers, both physical and mental, continue to shift.
This is where Castore’s new Layered Ventilation System (LVS) comes into its own. Developed to meet the demands of the modern golfer, LVS is built to adapt as the game does.
“Golfers need to stay comfortable and be able to perform for hours at a time, in constantly changing conditions,” says Emily Smith, Sportswear Designer at Castore. “LVS is our answer to that. We wanted to create a multilayered system that offers freedom of movement, thermoregulation, and flexibility, all in one.”
For the modern golfer, LVS comprises three precision-engineered garments: an engineered knit polo, an engineered knit quarter zip, and a weather-resistant jacket. Each can be worn alone—but together, they form a fully integrated system.
Strategically aligned engineered knit ventilation zones across all three layers enhance thermoregulation, no matter how the garments are combined.
Ergonomic shaping ensures they layer without friction, allowing full freedom of movement at every stage of the swing.
“We removed shoulder seams and reshaped collars to reduce friction,” Emily explains. “The construction of each piece was engineered with layering in mind—so the system stays comfortable and distraction-free, whether you’re wearing one layer or all three.”

Mitigate the Midday Pressure
By midday, the tone of the round has shifted. The light is sharper. Shadows are shorter. The easy rhythm of the early holes gives way to something more exacting.
This is where the course begins to test players, not just physically, but psychologically. Focus starts to splinter. Wind picks up. The sun bears down. It’s no longer about warming up, it’s about staying composed under pressure.
Conditions like these are why the Golf Pinnacle Woven Jacket was created. Traditional layers can disrupt movement and mindset. Bulky outerwear often became a burden, interfering with swing mechanics, breaking concentration, or simply getting in the way.
“The bulkiness of layered garments was a real issue,” says Emily. “It affects focus, freedom of movement, and makes it harder for players to adapt to changing temperatures mid-round. We set out to solve that with LVS.”
The result is a lightweight, weather-ready shell engineered with ProTek—providing water resistance and UV protection without the usual rigidity. Back vents at the shoulder blades use power mesh to maximise airflow, while ergonomic shaping keeps the silhouette clean and swing-friendly.
The Golf Pinnacle Woven Jacket isn’t just protection, it’s precision. It shields without announcing itself. And like the rest of the system, it lets players stay inside their game, not inside their clothing.
LVS doesn’t just keep with the pace; it enabled performance.
Final Stretch Focus
By the final holes, the test is no longer technical. It’s mental. The swing is familiar now. Rehearsed, repeated. worn-in like second nature. But tired arms, legs and minds can cause focus to flicker. This is where rounds are won or lost.
Still, the best players remain composed. As the sun sinks and the shadows lengthen, they manage every shift in temperature, tempo, terrain. Their gear has kept pace, adapting without interruption. Each layer doing its job, then disappearing.
On the 18th green, a simple putt finishes the round. Composure was held. Rhythm was sustained. Every layer—mental and physical—aligned when it mattered most. When nothing else gets in the way, players stay in the moment. LVS doesn’t just keep with the pace; it enabled performance.
All that’s left is to take that glorious, triumphant walk to the clubhouse. Dry, cool and composed.
This is what LVS was built for. A system that adapts without asking. That balances freedom and structure, protection and presence.
Golf is a layered game—of movement, of mindset, of moment-to-moment control. Those who manage those layers best are the ones who finish strongest.
